"Impressive": Lt. Gov Jon Husted praises Fairfield County Workforce Center

CARROLL — During a tour of the Fairfield County Workforce Center Wednesday, Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted called the endeavor "impressive," and added it's one solution for a labor shortage facing the country.

The workforce center hosts programs designed to give students an option of earning a certificate to begin their degree or continue their education in certain trade areas, such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, advanced manufacturing or nursing.

The center is a collaborative effort by Fairfield County, Ohio University-Lancaster, Hocking College, local high schools and several local businesses.

During the tour, Husted asked questions about the curriculum and courses offered at the center, and what it can offer the local workforce.
